Your Information
On this site you have the option to sign up to receive updates. Members of my mailing list also receive sneak peeks and free stuff delivered to their inboxes. Here are the important things to know:
- Submitting your information is entirely voluntary. You are welcome to read any content on this site without submitting any information.
- In some cases you may be required to sign up to the mailing list in order to receive something, such as a free book. This is because some offers, such as certain free books, are only available to my mailing list members. If you want to receive the benefits of being a mailing list member, you must become a mailing list member. Receipt of free books or any other mailing list member perk is completely voluntary.
- My mailing list includes a double opt-in feature that asks you to confirm that you really want to be signed up. If you change your mind after submitting your information or decide you no longer want to make that information available to me, you can choose not to respond to the e-mail asking you to confirm your subscription. If you do nothing, so will I—meaning that your information will not be added to my mailing list and I will have no access to it.
- If at any time you want to change how you receive mail from me, you can change your preferences. Just click here to enter your updated preferences.
- If at any time you no longer want to receive e-mails from me, you are free to unsubscribe.
- You are also welcome to contact me at any time.
- I will never sell your information. Period.
- I will only share your information in the following situations:
- When it is necessary to fulfill something you have requested. For example, if you sign up to receive a free book, your information must be shared with the site that hosts and delivers the free book in order to facilitate delivery of said book to you.
- When you have expressly granted permission for me to share it, for example on this blog.
Please note that this privacy policy does not apply to information you have already made public on the Internet, such as blog posts, articles, reviews, comments, etc. If you have already chosen to share something publicly I may link to it, reference it, or quote a portion of it.
Cookies
These days the Internet is full of cookies. Cookies collect and store certain information about your browsing habits, so it’s easy to feel paranoid about them. But here’s why so many websites use them:
- They store useful things, such as your site preferences, so you don’t have to keep selecting the same options every time you visit a site.
- They allow sites to load faster.
- The information they collect allows websites to deliver content that conforms with your preferences.
This site uses cookies to collect anonymous traffic data. It’s not as creepy as it sounds. The data doesn’t tell me anything about you personally, but it does tell me which posts were read (but not by whom), which links were clicked (but not who clicked them), which countries people browsed this site from (but not who browsed here), and other data that’s fascinating to me but can’t identify you personally.
I use this data to see what topics are important to you so I can write more of what you want to read and to help me understand you, my audience, better.
By continuing to view or use this site you are agreeing to its use of cookies.
